Greater Pike’s Policy Regarding Political Activity at our Annual Awards Dinner
Last updated July 1, 2026
- Greater Pike’s annual awards dinner is a time to celebrate Greater Pike and our honorees, and for our donors, grantees, volunteers, and board members to enjoy an evening with each other.
- Elected officials and candidates are encouraged to buy tickets and tables for the dinner and other events, and to attend, however wearing political buttons or overt campaigning during events is discouraged.
- The program book for the dinner will not accept advertisements or sponsorships from political candidates or elected officials, or advertisements that support or promote partisan political activity, including supporting political candidates or elected officials.
- Elected officials are ineligible to be honored or receive an award from Greater Pike while they are in office.
- Local elected officials will not be invited to speak at the dinner. At Greater Pike’s Executive Committee’s discretion, incumbent statewide or federal officeholders may be invited to speak.
- All speakers and honorees at the dinner should refrain from overtly endorsing or opposing candidates and officeholders during their remarks.
