Our
Impact

For our neighbors.
For Pike County.

For good. Forever.

At Greater Pike Community Foundation, we believe generosity means more than making a gift—it means establishing a legacy. Since our founding in 2013, scores of neighbors, businesses, and families have come together to support the causes and organizations that Greater Pike advocates for, so as to make Pike County a stronger, more vibrant place to call home. We have awarded nearly $2 million in grants and scholarships during that time, touching every corner of our community.

Behind every dollar is a story. A child who attends preschool because tuition was covered. A student who takes their first step toward a college degree. A veteran who finds healing and support. A neighborhood beautified, a historic site preserved, a concert or art show that inspires.

These are not just programs. They are lives changed—because of you.

Six Areas of Impact

Medical, Health + Well-Being

Everyone deserves access to quality health care, close to home. Through grants and partnerships, Greater Pike has helped upgrade medical equipment, train emergency personnel, and expand access to mental health resources in our area. We’ve supported neurodivergent children and adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and veterans in need of healing from PTSD. Our goal is to ensure Pike County residents can find the care, compassion, and dignity they need—without leaving the place they love.

Community Beautification

A thriving community is one that feels welcoming and cared for. From reimagining the Ann Street Park to restoring the beloved star on Milford Knob, specialized funds at Greater Pike have championed projects that make our neighborhoods shine. Beautification efforts through the Milford Garden Club, Milford Enhancement Committee and other organizations not only enhance our shared spaces, they strengthen pride and belonging—reminding us that Pike County is worth investing in.

Historic Preservation

Our history tells the story of who we are. By funding organizations that are dedicated to preserving Pike County’s landmarks and treasures, we protect more than buildings—we safeguard the spirit of the people who came before us. Through dedicated funds, Greater Pike supports efforts to honor and restore historic sites, ensuring that future generations can walk the same streets, see the same views, and carry forward the stories that make this place home.

Arts + Culture

Art has the power to bring us together, spark creativity, and inspire hope. A variety of Greater Pike funds support performances, exhibits, festivals, and other programs that celebrate our region’s cultural richness. From music to theater to visual arts, we believe the arts are essential to a thriving community—nurturing talent, sparking imagination, and making Pike County a place of beauty and connection.

Scholarships

Education opens doors, and Greater Pike is proud to help local students step through them. Each year, our scholarships empower young people to pursue degrees in fields as diverse as engineering, art, nursing, and the teaching of world languages. In 2025 alone, we awarded more than $150,000 in grants and scholarships to area students. Behind each scholarship is a student with a dream—and a community cheering them on.

Social Services

At the heart of our mission is care for our neighbors. Greater Pike funds support food pantries, fire departments, animal welfare programs, and nonprofits that provide critical services. From LGBTQ+ programs to resources for families and individuals navigating personal challenges, we stand behind the organizations that meet Pike County’s most urgent needs. Together, we can build a community where no one is left behind.

More Than Numbers

Our assets now exceed $8 million across 50 funds. But this growth is not about numbers on a balance sheet—it’s about trust. Each fund, each planned gift, each donation is an act of faith in the future of Pike County. We are proud to be stewards of that trust, ensuring every gift is used wisely, effectively, and with heart.

A Community Effort

Impact at this scale doesn’t happen because of one organization—it arises from community involvement. Businesses, nonprofits, donors, volunteers, families, and neighbors all have a role to play. When generosity meets need, lives are transformed.

That’s the story of Greater Pike. That’s the story of this community.
