The Greater Pike Community Foundation has received funding from The Dime Bank to offer its first Pre-K Scholarship opportunity. The Scholarships will be based on financial need and will provide partial tuition to one or more families in the Greater Pike area with a preschool age child to attend a pre-K program at either the Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD) or Green Trees Early Learning Center, Inc., in the fall of 2018. Through the GPCF, the EITC Program provides significant funding for innovative educational programming enhancements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) at Delaware Valley School District (DVSD). Pike County area residents opened their hearts and checkbooks to support disaster relief efforts following a hurricane in Puerto Rico and earthquake in Mexico earlier this fall. The Greater Pike Community Foundation’s Hotel Fauchère Emergency Relief Fund, established by Hotel Fauchère employees and management received donations exceeding $6300 in a little over one month.
