Milford, PA Greater Pike Community Foundation (GPCF) announced its executive officers and committee chairs in April. Legally incorporated late in 2012, the GPCF was created to maximize charitable donations from individuals, families and local businesses through organized targeted community philanthropy.

At the April 4 board meeting, the following were elected: James Pedranti, Board Chair; Kirk Mackey, Vice Chair; Rosann Kalish, Secretary; Robert Pierce, Treasurer; and John “Duke” Schneider will Chair of the Governance/Nominating Committee, all of whom will also sit on the foundation’s Executive Committee.

In addition, other committee chairs appointed were Richard Snyder, Finance Committee; Maryanne Monte, Grants/Distribution Committee and Marcia Guberman, Audit Committee. Pedranti and Mackey will co-chair the Advancement Committee and Maleyne Syracuse will lead the group’s advisory committee. Other board members are Davis Chant, Lara Anne Dodsworth, John Fisher, Tom Hoff, Allison Stewart and Sean Strub.

Greater Pike Community Foundation is a 501-c3 not-for-profit philanthropic institution created by civic volunteers for the long-term benefit of the greater Pike County area. Community foundations administer various types of charitable assets according to guidelines established by each donor, to maximize the long-term positive impact of their support, and to enable donors to pursue their charitable objectives while realizing the best tax benefits allowed by law.

“GPCF provides a permanent and personal way to give back to the region we love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain,” said Richard Snyder, who began working with others several years ago to organize the foundation.

Jim Pedranti, the board chair, noted, “Through Greater Pike, you can help make sure our region’s cherished quality of life thrives for generations to come.”

The foundation’s slogan, “For Good. Forever.” is a nod to Pike County’s native son Gifford Pinchot, the father of the American conservation movement, who was credited with writing, “Where conflicting interests must be reconciled, the question shall always be answered from the standpoint of the greatest good of the greatest number in the long run.”

The foundation’s board meetings are open to the public. For more information about the Greater Pike Community Foundation, visit www.greaterpike.org or email info@greaterpike.org or contact any board member.
