Jane Goldstein Endowment Fund Established

July 6, 2015

Dr. Henry Goldstein has established an endowment fund with Greater Pike Community Foundation in honor of his late wife Jane Goldstein.

“Jane was a tremendous supporter of the Pike County Library System so I was moved to create this fund to benefit the library,” Dr. Goldstein asserted.

For years, Jane Goldstein gave her time and treasure in support of the Friends of the Pike County Library, at one point serving as its president. The “Friends” room in the new library building was dedicated in her honor and to this day, volunteers working there fondly remember Jane’s contributions.

An initial check of $500 was presented to the library and the remaining amount of the endowment will be invested and annual withdrawals from the invested capital will be used to support ongoing operations.

Earlier this year, the Library received a $1,000 mini-grant from the Foundation’s Barbara J. Buchanan endowment fund.

Greater Pike Community Foundation was established to provide a personal and permanent way to give back to the region we love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain. The Foundation enables individuals, families and local businesses to maximize their charitable support through organized, targeted community philanthropy. For good, forever is the simple purpose of Greater Pike Community Foundation.
