Local Resident Donates to the Pike County Public Library And the United Way

Greater Pike Community Foundation is pleased to present donations totaling $9,266 to the Pike County Public Library (PCPL) and the Pike County United Way on behalf of The Jane R. Goldstein Memorial Fund and the generosity of Dr. Henry R. Goldstein.
“There is, perhaps, no better return on an investment than witnessing the profound difference a gift can make within one’s local community and knowing that these results have permanence and will benefit future generations,” said Jenni Hamill, Executive Director of Greater Pike.
“I am pleased to support these two worthy community organizations in memory of my wife Jane and I appreciate the role that Greater Pike Community Foundation played in helping me to fulfill my charitable intent” stated Goldstein. Goldstein established a donor designated fund with the Foundation in 2015, in memory of his wife Jane who was a longtime supporter of the local library and the Greater Pike community.
Rose Chiocchi, PCPL’s Executive Director stated, “The money that we receive today will be used to grow our collection of books and other materials, as well as new shelving in the Milford branch. I know that I can speak on behalf of the library board and employees when I say that we are very thankful to the Goldstein family for their unwavering support of the library over the years.”
“It is the generosity of residents like Dr. Goldstein that makes Pike County so special,” said Matt Osterberg, President of the United Way of Pike County. “The funds he has donated will aid the United Way of Pike County in providing for those in need. Our mission is to alleviate hunger and homelessness and his generosity will benefit all the food pantries in Pike County. The United Way would also like to thank Greater Pike Community Foundation for their assistance.”
