Hotel Fauchere Establishes Emergency Relief Fund For Puerto Rico And Mexico

October 3, 2017

After natural disasters decimated communities and resources in Mexico and Puerto Rico last month, the Greater Pike Community Foundation established the Hotel Fauchère Emergency Relief Fund in collaboration with the management and employees of the hotel. The Foundation will distribute 100% of relief fund contributions to charitable organizations offering help in impacted areas.

The earthquakes in Mexico and hurricanes in Puerto Rico directly affected the families of several hotel employees. Xavier Morales, Hotel Fauchère’s maître d’hôtel and a native of Puerto Rico, said, “Our guests and the community have been generous and supportive, which means a lot to Pike Countians who have strong connections to Puerto Rico.”

Sean Strub, the hotel’s owner and a member of the Greater Pike Community Foundation Board of Directors, said, “I am proud that Greater Pike was able to respond quickly and generously, setting up a pass-through fund so donors can receive a tax deduction and we could, in our small way, contribute to relief efforts.”

The Foundation will accept donations to the Hotel Fauchère Emergency Relief Fund through October 31, 2017. After that time, specific beneficiaries will be posted to the Greater Pike Community Foundation website. We look forward to sharing additional information about how people from the Greater Pike region have made a real difference for local recovery efforts in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

Please consider a tax deductible donation today. Pay online by credit card, or mail your contribution to: GPCF, Hotel Fauchère Emergency Relief Fund, PO Box 992, Milford, PA 18337.
