Apply for a Mini-grant from the Barbara J. Buchanan Fund

January 20, 2018

Greater Pike Community Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of a request for applications for mini-grants from eligible non-profit organizations in the greater Pike County area. Funding for this program comes from the Barbara J. Buchanan Fund at the Greater Pike Community Foundation, a donor-designated fund established in 2014 to support our community and organizations with innovative ideas for improving our quality of life.

“We are grateful to Barbara for her generosity and forward thinking. Because of her philanthropic planning, we are able to provide much-needed funds yearly to non-profits in our community,” said Jim Pedranti, Board Chair for the Greater Pike Community Foundation.

The deadline for applying is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 pm. The application form and details concerning eligibility and requirements can be found at the Foundation’s website. Greater Pike encourages all applicants to read the directions carefully as they have been changed. No application will be considered if missing required components after the deadline.

Greater Pike stresses that innovative programs and projects will be prioritized over applications for funding for core operating expenses. Three grants of $500 each will be awarded.

“Greater Pike is such a wonderful realization of a dream many of us have had to create and sustain local philanthropy. I was honored to establish a ‘donor-directed’ fund at Greater Pike and I know this is just the beginning of much good work for the organization,” said Barbara J. Buchanan, who is a Board Member Emerita.

The Greater Pike Community Foundation was created to enable generous individuals, families and local businesses to maximize their charitable support through organized, targeted, long-term community philanthropy. The Foundation provides a permanent and personal way to give back to the region we love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain.
