Grants from the Richard L. Snyder Endowment Fund Available

May 9, 2018

The Greater Pike Community Foundation is honored to announce the availability of an anticipated $100,000 in grant funds from the Richard L. Snyder Charitable Remainder Trust.

In accordance with Dick’s wishes, income from his Trust is distributed annually to not-for-profit organizations within designated fields of interest. Dick’s most enduring support for Pike County is his legacy to the Greater Pike Community Foundation. This year, grants ranging from $500-$5000 (with 3 qualifying for $7,500) will be awarded for the following types of programs:

• maintaining and enhancing the public areas of Milford
• local arts, cultural events and festivals
• medical research and programs
• the prevention of homosexual intolerance and domestic violence

Dick Snyder purchased a farm in Milford in 1985 and from that time, his commitment to this community was unwavering.  You may remember him as the founder and head of the Milford Enhancement Committee, as co-owner with Sean Strub of the Hotel Fauchere, or perhaps you visited his llama farm on one of the many Open Barn Days he held there.

Whether you had the pleasure of meeting Dick Snyder or not, his legacy and love for Pike County is alive and well through these generous grants which continue to enhance our community life.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply by grant application available online.

Complete applications will be accepted until 5:00PM on June 30, 2018.

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. For more information, please contact Maryanne Monte, Grants Committee Chair at 570-296-5420 or mamonte1@hotmail.com.
