Greater Pike Community Foundation will honor long time Milford resident Lorraine Gregory with The Barbara J. Buchanan Community Service Award at its 5th Annual Dinner on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 where she will have the opportunity to present the $1,000 grant award to the non-profit of her choice.

Lorraine is being honored as she exemplifies a philanthropic leader in our community. “Lorraine Gregory has served Pike County for decades. As a public health nurse and a school district nurse, Lorraine committed herself to the well-being of the residents of Pike County. With her husband, Randolf “Skip” Gregory, Lorraine has financially supported many local initiatives,” said Maryanne Monte, Greater Pike Dinner Committee Member.

Greater Pike will also honor Ron Schmalzle and Randy Schmalzle and Costa Family Fun Park and Ski-Big Bear at Masthope Mountain with The Richard L. Snyder Business Leadership Award.

Ron Schmalzle and Randy Schmalzle are being honored because these brothers, third generation Pike County born and raised, have demonstrated outstanding business leadership in our community with two separate businesses that both respect and protect the environment.

Both businesses help to foster economic growth in the Greater Pike area by attracting seasonal visitors to the area for summer fun and winter recreation. “In addition to being excellent business leaders, both Ron Schmalzle and Randy Schmalzle have shown they know the importance of giving back to the community as both volunteer their time and resources without hesitation,” said Lara Anne Dodsworth, co-Chair with Tim Smith of the Dinner Committee.

Ron is the former Campaign Chair for United Way, YMCA Board Member, and is the Pike County member of the Board of Trustees at Wayne Memorial Hospital and chairman of the Pike County Hotel Tax Board.

Randy organizes and manages the annual fund raising event for the Wallenpaupack football program and is the voice of the annual Ice Breaker Relays.
