Greater Pike Board Chair Gives Back in a Big Way
December 21, 2020
Marking fifty years as a resident and successful businessman, Greater Pike Community Foundation’s Board Chair James Pedranti has established a new fund: The Pedranti Family Charitable Fund. It is a long-term commitment of giving—not that he hasn’t been giving for a long time already. Back in 2010, Pedranti began floating the idea of a community foundation, which granted him two titles when Greater Pike was established in February 2012: Co-Founder and Board Chair.
“I raised two children here,” said Pedranti, “and enjoyed the benefits of the area and the income from a growing local business. I want to give back to the community.” He recalled how he started working for Sparkomatic in 1970—a Milford company that grew into Altec Lansing. He worked there for 35 years, during which time he rose to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The Pedranti Family Charitable Fund is a field of interest fund from which grants can be given to a wide range of interests in the nonprofit world, including but not limited to community enhancement, arts and culture, health and welfare, education, and historic preservation, with an emphasis on the Greater Pike area.
Pedranti would like to see the fund grow for a few years so that his annual donations and those from the charitable public will make the amounts gifted substantial and meaningful. “I want to give back and I couldn’t think of a better way to do it,” Pedranti added. “This fund will go on without me: basically forever.”
Anyone interested in making a donation to the Pedranti Family Charitable Fund may do so by sending a check to: Pedranti Fund – GPCF, PO Box 992, Milford, PA 18337, or online. Scroll down to the donate link for the Pedranti Family Charitable Fund.
