Greater Pike Names Barbara J. Buchanan Fund Grant Recipients

MILFORD, PA – The Barbara J. Buchanan Fund of Greater Pike Community Foundation is pleased to announce a total of $3,000 in awards to help support four nonprofit organizations that provide cultural and social services in the region.

“Barbara Buchanan’s tireless philanthropy raised millions of dollars for many diverse organizations, including this year’s recipients,” said Maryanne Monte, Greater Pike Community Foundation’s Grant Committee Chair.  “We are honored to continue her legacy and make these awards in her memory.”

The 2022 awardees include:

  • Make A Wish Greater Pennsylvania & West Virginia, to assist with granting a wish for a sick child in Pike County;
  • Family Promise of Monroe County, Inc. to purchase beds, sheets, pillows, and blankets for the homeless shelter;
  • Kindred Spirits Arts Programs, Inc. to assist with musical performances at Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford.
  • Hands of Hope, to assist with a website improvement to help clients link to services.

In addition to these grants, the Richard L. Snyder Fund of Greater Pike will begin accepting applications on May 15 from not-for-profit organizations in the categories of beautification, cultural events, and medical-related projects.
