Application Period Opens for Snyder Fund Grants

May 1, 2024

MILFORD, PA – Greater Pike Community Foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 apiece to local nonprofits working in the areas of arts and culture, historic preservation and beautification, and health and wellness through the Richard L. Snyder Fund. Applications for Snyder Fund grants will be accepted from May 15 through June 15.

The Richard L. Snyder Fund is an annual open grant program that funds nonprofit organizations conducting work in the following areas: maintaining and enhancing the public areas of the Borough of Milford; sponsorship of local arts, culture, festivals, and events; and medical research in the fields of multiple sclerosis, HIV, LGBT issues, and domestic violence.

Milford’s Dick Snyder, who died in 2014, was well-known for his civic engagement and generosity. A businessman who operated a llama farm on Foster Hill Road, among other ventures, he was active in conservation, cultural, historic preservation, and other local organizations. He was a founder of both the Milford Enhancement Committee and the Greater Pike Community Foundation.

“Dick Snyder believed deeply in the importance of investing in the organizations that provide so many critical services to our county, and we’re honored to continue his legacy through these annual grants,” said Rick Little, Greater Pike’s Executive Director.

Eligible nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply online. Applications will be accepted until midnight on June 15, 2024. Past grant recipients must have completed a closeout report for any previous grants received from Greater Pike before being considered for a new grant.
