July 8, 2024
MILFORD, PA – Greater Pike Community Foundation will hold its ninth annual dinner event on Sunday, September 8, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Silver Birches Resort on the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack in Hawley, PA. Individual tickets and table purchases are now available via Greater Pike’s website.
Highlighting the evening will be the presentation of three major awards to community leaders whom Greater Pike is honoring for their longstanding contributions. Martha Dubensky, the founder of GAIT Equine Assisted Services, will receive the Barbara J. Buchanan Community Service Award. The Jorgenson family, who operate The Historic Dimmick Inn in Milford, will receive the Richard L. Snyder Business Leadership Award. And the Milford Enhancement Committee, which has worked on beautification efforts in the borough of Milford for more than 25 years, will receive the Nonprofit Excellence Award.
As part of the awards, Greater Pike will provide a donation to the nonprofit organization of the honorees’ choosing, to be announced at the dinner.
“Our annual dinner is always a highlight of the year, bringing together local community leaders, philanthropists, and advocates for positive change. We expect a great turnout for what is guaranteed to be a lovely evening at a spectacular venue,” said Rick Little, Greater Pike’s executive director. “In addition to recognizing the incredible contributions of our honorees, this event raises critical funding that enables the foundation to continue our mission of building a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come.”
A classic lakeside resort that sits on nearly 700 feet of shoreline on Lake Wallenpaupack, Silver Birches is home to a collection of 13 vintage structures with varied histories dating back to the 1920s. Many of them feature lakeside porches, decks and balconies overlooking expansive grounds complete with fire pits and lawn games. The Greater Pike dinner will take place in Silver Birches’ elegant event center, which boasts expansive lake views.
The event is open to the public. Sponsorship opportunities are available, as are individual or table-level tickets. Businesses, individuals and organizations also have the option of taking out an ad in the dinner’s keepsake program.
Among the sponsors already onboard, Northwell Health is the evening’s Presenting Sponsor, while Lorraine Gregory and Pike County Light & Power are Patron Sponsors.
Lead Sponsors for the event include Biondo Investment Advisors, The Jorgenson Family/The Dimmick Inn, Doug Manion & Megan Strub, Javier Morales & Sean Strub, Milford Enhancement Committee, Mincer & Pfaff, LLC, Settlers Hospitality Group, Turano Insurance, and Wayne Bank.
