Petersheim Fund
September 16, 2019
Charles Petersheim left New York City in the aftermath of 9/11 and relocated to Sullivan County, NY. He founded Catskill Farms, a regional design, construction and real estate company that, to date, has built nearly 200 new homes. Now a Pike County resident, Petersheim has created a donor-advised fund at the Greater Pike Community Foundation with a $20,000 initial gift.

Scholarship Fund For Children of Immigrants Graduating from DVHS

When Peter Spielhagen, the beloved proprietor of Forest Hall Antiques, passed away earlier this year, his husband, Reggie Cheong-Leen, wanted to honor his memory in a special way. Reggie has established and endowed a scholarship fund at Greater Pike Community Foundation to support a cause that was important to both he and Peter: Immigrants to the U.S. seeking opportunity and better lives for their families.

6th Annual Dinner

County Waste Donates to Kyle James Pascoe Memorial Scholarship Fund
August 5, 2019
Earlier this year, Sharon Marks-Pascoe, the mother of Kyle Pascoe, a DV junior who died following a serious traffic accident last fall, launched a memorial scholarship fund at Greater Pike Community Foundation to honor her son. She sent a solicitation to local businesses and companies with whom she did business to raise the funds necessary to award an annual scholarship.

Pre-K Scholarships Available Now
July 22, 2019
Two deserving families got a little extra help paying for their children’s preschool tuition this summer with funding from Greater Pike Community Foundation. The Malone and Macali families were each awarded Pre-Kindergarten Scholarships for their children to attend the Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD) preschool program in Milford, PA.

Greater Pike Community Foundation is honored to announce the Kyle James Pascoe Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund was created by Kyle’s family to remember and honor the Delaware Valley High School junior who died in a tragic car accident on October 28, 2018.

The Barbara J. Buchanan Fund of the Greater Pike Community Foundation announces its 2019 Grant Recipients: Pike County Hands of Hope, Kindred Spirits, and GAIT Therapeutic Riding Center. All three organizations will receive a $500 grant.

Charity and community spirit were highlighted and celebrated as Greater Pike Community Foundation hosted over 60 people representing 45 local non-profit organizations for the 21st Annual Community Workshop on April 9th. Attendees had an opportunity to make 3-minute presentations about their organizations while learning about other non-profits, upcoming events, and initiatives.

Local Food Pantries Awarded Grants
February 4, 2019
Four local food pantries spanning Pike County received $1,000 each from Greater Pike Community Foundation in recognition of their efforts to fight hunger and provide support for those in need. Grants were awarded to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County in Milford, the Good Cheer Food Pantry at Saint Luke’s in Greeley, the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry in Dingmans Ferry, and the Saint Ann’s Food Pantry in Shohola.
